About
Zach Kadro is a Michigan-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music draws on three decades of writing, performing, and a deep love of sound -- from Motown and Bob Marley to the Beatles, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, the Velvet Underground, and the acoustic intimacy of Nick Drake and Cat Stevens. After years fronting Detroit-area bands including Gryphon Shepherd and Animal Chinz, he stepped away to pursue a doctoral degree and a career in naturopathic medicine -- and never stopped writing. His 2026 release Crawl Across the Sky, an acoustic recording made with a string quartet and tracked to analog tape, marks his return: unhurried, uncompromising, and very much alive.
